Why Matterport?

Q: What is a 3D Matterport Virtual Tour?

A: A 3D Matterport Virtual Tour is a three-dimensional representation of a real-world location created from 2D images. A space can be navigated on a desktop, mobile device, or even with virtual reality goggles (ie. Samsung Gear VR, Google Cardboard, or Google Daydream)

Essentially it's a 3D media ecosystem that businesses can use for many different purposes – property marketing, construction, facilities management, and news/entertainment.

Q: Can exteriors be included in the virtual tour?

A: Yes! However, 3D Virtual Tours are best suited for interiors. Images taken outside are 360 degree views (2D Panorama images). Creating 3D scans while outside is not supported.

Q: How long does it take?

A: Once our Matterport Specialist is on-site, it typically takes 30-45min for every 1,000 sq ft

Q: When will my Matterport 3D Virtual Tour be ready?

A: Once our Matterport Specialist is finished scanning the property, it is uploaded into the cloud which takes 24-48 hours. Once it's finished processing we will notify you shortly after.

Q: What do I need to do before my appointment?

A: You don't need to provide us with anything to scan the property. All we require from you is to sign our "Matterport Services Agreement Contract" that way both parties are protected. In the services contract it will explain that you must have the space in a condition suitable for scanning before our Matterport Specialist arrives. Please provide us with instructions for how to access the property if no one is on-site during the scheduled date.

Q: What do I need to do during the appointment?

A: You are not required to be on-site when we are scanning the space. It can take up to a several hours depending on the square footage which is why most real estate professionals provide a lockbox code or unlock the property themselves and then head out.

Q: What if weather is bad on the day of my appointment?

A: Our Matterport Pro2 3D Camera uses state-of-the-art technology called High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDR) which allows the camera to adjust to changes in lighting. Even if it's cloudy we can make your space look beautiful! As long as there is decent interior lighting, the finished product will look just as good as a space scanned on a sunny day.

Q: How do I embed the virtual tour onto my website?

A: Embedding a virtual tour is very simple; similar to embedding a YouTube video. We provide you with specific HTML code that you can copy and paste into your site. If you're confused at all during this part of the process we will walk you through this step.

Q: How do I post my virtual tour to social media?

A: Posting a virtual tour is very simple as well. We provide you with a specific URL link which you can copy and paste, just like sharing a news article it's a very similar process. If you're not very tech savvy, we can help you.

Q: Which browsers are compatible with a 3D virtual tour?

A: The 3D Virtual Tour uses WebGL, the modern standard for 3D content viewed on the web. On desktop computers, WebGL is supported by the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer. On mobile devices, WebGL is supported by Safari for iOS 8 and Chrome for Android. If you can’t view the Virtual Tour, please update your browser.

Q: How do I pay for this service?

A: We accept all major credit cards, checks, and Paypal. You can either pay over the phone when you schedule an appointment or receive an invoice by email which is payable within 5 days from the date of the service.

Q: How long is my 3D virtual tour hosted online?

A: 3D Virtual Tours require a huge amount of data which is stored in the cloud. We offer the first month of hosting FREE. After the first month we charge a hosting fee of $9.99/month.

If at any point in time you no longer wish to hold onto your Matterport Virtual Tour because lets say you sold the property, or you simply don't feel the need to have it, no problem. You are free to cancel at anytime and the hosting fee will no longer be billed.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: We send all of our clients a "Matterport Services Agreement Contract" which outlines our cancellation policy.
